Merrill Linn Trail

This one-mile loop is an extension off of the Mid-State Trail in extreme northwestern Union County. It is in the vicinity of Mohn Mill Road (a maintained mountain road) on state forest lands. This trail is generally flat as it passes through deep woodland which shelters a large number of vernal pools where forest amphibians breed. This area is especially beautiful in late spring while water remains in the pools and beautiful, tall cinnamon and interrupted ferns are at their finest. The trail is maintained by volunteers of the Linn Conservancy.

Directions

From Lewisburg, take Rt 80 west to the Mile Run exit. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp, then right at the stop sign (Sugar Valley Narrows Rd). After crossing Rt 80, turn right onto Zimmerman Rd. Follow for 2.7 miles then right onto Mohn Mill Rd for 0.8 miles where orange blazes mark the Mid-State Trail (and Pipeline Rd). Walk to the right (east) on the Mid-State look for the blue blazed Linn Trail on the left. There is parking space available on Pipeline Rd on the immediate left.
